Assistant land Surveyor

We are looking to appoint an Assistant land surveyor to join our experienced land and measured building surveying team.

 

As an assistant land surveyor, you will complete small to medium scale land surveys to a high standard, and will be able to complete survey projects independently. The ideal candidate will have previous practical experience and technical knowledge of topographical surveying, including processing survey and CAD data.

Responsibilities

As an assistant land surveyor, you will:

 

  • Complete small to medium scale topographical surveys independently and to a high standard
  • Work alongside the lead surveyor on large and complex surveying projects
  • Process survey data and CAD data to a high working standard
  • Demonstrate good competent knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks
  • Accurately set up surveying instruments, recording data and providing logistical support to other team members.
  • Work effectively on projects with a trainee and junior surveyors and assist with their development by providing practical onsite experience
  • Undertake initial site inspections and complete dynamic risk assessments when attending survey sites, and ensure all the required safety measures are in place prior to commencing the work
  • Undertake training to learn measured building surveying, laser scanning, large complex topographical surveys and a basic knowledge of site engineering and setting out
Requirements

The Person:

  • Previous experience working in the surveying industry
  • Experience and knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks
  • Passionate about pursuing a long-term career with Hextra limited and developing skills into other surveying disciplines
  • Able to work successfully as part of a team and independently
  • Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths & English to Grade C level/ Grade 4 level
  • Able to commute to our various sites
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
